ABOUT ME

There's nothing much to say really apart from that I have been interested in music from an early age after hearing the Beatles when they broke onto the scene and changed music as it had never been changed before or since.

I first picked up a guitar around the age of 14 and had many fruitless attempts at trying to be the next Paul McCartney or Jimmy Page until one day in the 70's it began to click. Anyway the years went past and due to life's little tricks and turns it was not until the late 90's that I managed to find the time and the finance to purchase some home recording gear and the result is what is on offer.I have been writing songs on and off for 30 years, some lately with a friend of mine Ralph.

Up to date I have written some 200 songs or so. Since purchasing the equipment I would like to think my playing and writing has improved and the songs I recorded are worth a listen and maybe you would like to purchase copy of my CD.The songs are simple and come from the heart and mind and are all live music without the embellishments of professional studio gizmos and electronic trickery.

The DGR Band

In October 2012 musicians and songwriters, Dave Cooper from Sunderland in the UK and Glen Granthem from Sacramento, California, USA teamed up after Glen heard one of Dave’s songs on Jukebox Alive on the internet. Glen contacted Dave and they decided to work together on an album. Ralph Donkin, Dave’s friend and lyric writer jumped on board and between them they wrote and recorded 15 songs which became the CD “Songs across the Water”. The DGR band later morphed into the “Cookin with Gran Music Project” – This resulted in a further album called “Come Taste the Music”.Their goal was simple. Fresh input, positive feedback, creative fun while making great music to share and enjoy. Although separated by an ocean and thousands of air miles, thanks to the internet it truly is a small world. Music has no boundaries or limitations in these three songwriters’ eyes. Challenge is a good thing. Recorded magic makes it all worthwhile. Cheers to all who listen. Both albums are available from CD Baby, I Tunes, Amazon and other online outlets.
